Sometimes babies come in and sleep the whole way through their session. Other times, like little Rueben, they stay wide awake for a lot of the session and want to take everything in. And honestly, I love that just as much.

Rueben’s session was calm and unhurried, even though he wasn’t sleepy at all at first! We kept things simple with soft, neutral wraps and gentle posing so the focus stayed on him. Eventually, the warmth and the wrap got to him and he was out like a light!

It’s a good reminder that newborn photos don’t have to be about the “perfect” pose or the deepest sleep. Every baby is different, and every session tells a story just as it unfolds. Rueben’s story is about being completely himself on that day – and that’s exactly what we captured.
