The Booking Process

Booking with NatalieM is so easy!

For newborns, you don’t need to know what date they are arriving, because let’s face it, babies do what they want, when they want!

You just need to let me know your due date, and I pop you in my booking system for around 10 days post due date. If baby arrives early or late it’s no issue, we just amend the session day to be in the first 1 - 3 weeks of your baby’s life.

Once booked, all my clients receive their booking confirmation, session tips/preparation emails, What to Wear PDF style Guide, links to my full product pricing and a contract and questionnaire. Being prepared is key to a smooth session.

For family sessions, we need to work out a location, date and time preference, so we’ll do that on email and I can give you advice on the best location after I see your questionnaire responses.

You pay $300 towards your session on the day and then you pay your balance when you see your images and choose from a collection.

The Session

Session day!

Newborn sessions start at 10am in my home studio in Ocean Grove.

You don’t need to bring any clothes for baby - I have wraps, outfits, props and blankets all here to use. All information about what to bring is provided to you on email well before the day.

You can expect to be here for at least 1.5 hours, sometimes up to 3 depending on your newborn’s needs that day.

For families, we meet at our scheduled location and most sessions last around 45 - 1 hour. I don’t have a strict time, there’s no point continuing to shoot when your kids are over it, so we stop when I know that I have more than enough beautiful images ready to go for you.

I always photograph a combination of ‘looking at the camera’ shots as well as more candid images, but you’ll get plenty of direction on posing and yep, temporary marks like pimples and scratches can be photoshopped away!

The Ordering Process

Once the session is done, I upload and backup on your images on my computer and start culling out the images that are not going to work - usually eyes closed, slightly out of focus, or just basically doubles of another one. You won’t miss out on any awesome photo, trust me!

Once culled, I edit around 40 images for newborns, and around 50 - 70 for families.

Around one week after your session, I’ll email you either with a gallery that you can see online, or you can come in to see me and we’ll go through your selections.

You will decide what collection you’d like to with, and then you’ll pay the balance of monies due. Your selected products will be ordered and you’ll be able to download your images from your gallery as well as order any additional prints and products.

It’s all very simple, streamlined and fast!
