Baby Eliana's Newborn Session | Baby Photography Geelong

“What a wonderful person Natalie is, our Bub was not having a good day and screaming most of the time, we ended up being there for 3 hours, but she was super calm and helped to calm down my Bub so we could still get the photos, I was stressing I wasn’t going to get what I wanted but Natalie re assured me that she would get them. I honestly couldn’t believe the photos when I saw them, you wouldn’t have even know she spent the whole session screaming 🥹🤍 amazing work will definitely be back for more family photos” - Nicole.

While I would LOVE to tell you that all newborn sessions go completely smoothly, they don’t. While every video you see of newborn photographers posing happens to be a sweet little sleeping babies, that’s definitely not how it always goes. Baby Eliana’s session was a reminder that every newborn session is different - and that it’s completely okay if things don’t go to plan because I do plan for that! Babies have their own big feelings and part of my job is to create a calm space so that parents can relax (and then BABIES can relax) and know I’ll do my best to still deliver a beautiful gallery.

I know parents can feel stressed in the moment, especially when their baby is unsettled. If you’re worried about that, please don’t - I don’t need your baby to ‘perform’ or be super quick. And on this particular day, sure - baby girl wasn’t living her best life, but that’s just part of parenting and part of my job. We have crappy days all the time as adults, I definitely expect babies to!

After a few hours, some patience, and a lot of cuddles and feeds, we came away with a beautiful gallery that you’d never guess came from such a day. LUCKILY her parents wanted pretty natural poses and no props and hoped for some unwrapped photos as well - we got it all.

Here’s a look at some of my favourites from the session.

If you’ve been worried your baby might ‘ruin’ their session because they are a wee bit fussy - please know, I work at their pace and always capture something beautiful.
